STEP 2 – FRANKINCENSE BASICS

broken image

Did you know that there are three different species of the Boswellia tree in our FRANKINCENSE Essential Oil?

And that is takes five months for the process of harvesting Frankincense Resin to be completed?

FRANKINCENSE is sourced from Somalia, and has a complex mixture of monoterpenes, such as alpha-Pinene, Limonene, alpha-Thujene, and beta-Pinene (giving it it’s renewing properties).

FRANKINCENSE’S benefits are many, as you will see. We are going to be learning all about FRANKINCENSE, so let’s get the basics covered first.

FRANKINCENSE is steam distilled from the resinous “tears” of the trees that have been carefully scored, giving it a warm, clean, and spicy aroma. If the trees are properly cared for, they can produce a couple of pounds of resin each year, and continue to produce resin for hundreds of years.

FRANKINCENSE can be used internally, topically, and aromatically. Dilute for sensitive skin, but it can generally be used neat.

When paired with other oils, FRANKINCENSE can enhance the other oils’ benefits as well as create balance and synergy among Essential Oils in a blend. FRANKINCENSE blends well with almost any Essential Oil, including Lime, Lemon, Wild Orange, Lavender, Myrrh, Ylang Ylang, and Sandalwood.

QUESTION – DID YOU KNOW THAT SOURCING CAN CHANGE THE QUALITY OF THE ESSENTIAL OIL?
